Our experience with Carmel was really a mixed bag. Uber is more reliable and now you can book rides in advance with them. Needless to say, I will never use them again. Instead they gave me a $12 discount on a future ride. When someone from Carmel finally reached out to me after I sent a written complaint, I told them that they should pay for my Uber ride as a gesture of goodwill. Once in the Uber, I was finally able to reach someone and ask that my Carmel ride be cancelled and money refunded. Was told I wouldn't be disconnected "this time." Finally, with baby in meltdown mode, we used Uber. Was lied to numerous times - driver never was at airport, in fact, he was not answering his phone. They wouldn't give me the number for dispatch so I could call directly. Disconnected numerous times after being on hold. Each time I called the number they gave me, I had to be transferred to dispatch (sometimes on hold for 10 minutes). Dispatch basically was stringing me along as they tried to locate the driver, instead of being honest with me and telling me the truth which was they had no idea where he was and couldn't reach him. I was told "yes." In any case, I had to call 10 times over the course of an hour. Was transferred to dispatch who kept asking me where at the airport I was located which led me to believe the driver couldn't find us, so I explicitly asked whether the driver was at the airport. After waiting 20 minutes, when driver was no where to be found, I called the number they gave us. Whole reason I booked a car service was because there were five of us with luggage and we didn't want to have to take two Ubers to get home. Arrived at DFW after a long day of travel with an 18 month old.
